Originally from Santa Cruz, CA, Makai realized performing was where it's at when he saw The Magic Flute at the age of four. His mom promptly got him into ballet classes and he then spent both grade and high school bugging his classmates with nonstop singing. Fast forward another four years and he now has a BFA in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory! 

Off the stage, Makai loves painting, knitting, and going on hikes (is it obvious this is a person from hippie-dippy NorCal?). He is also a strong advocate for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as well as LGBTQ rights and education. He is absolutely stoked to be living in a New York City shoebox and living the dream!
